We are delighted to welcome performance equestrian clothing brand Coldstream Equestrian as a new sponsor at Hickstead.

Coldstream Equestrian has signed a three-year sponsorship deal of Ring 4. The partnership puts Coldstream firmly on the showjumping map, with Ring 4 classes during the summer season ranging from 1.00m up to 1.35m in height. Along with arena eventing classes, the ring saw a total of 14,418 competitive rounds take place in the 2019 season.

From October to May, the newly-titled Coldstream Equestrian Ring 4 combines with Ring 3 to offer the largest all-weather cross-country schooling facility in the south. Obstacles range from 60cm to 1.10m, including a large water complex jumping in, out and through the lake and round the trees that serve to distinguish the ring as one of the most unusual and attractive in the country.

Launched in 2019, nearly 4,500 horses visited during the first year, with many taking to social media to share their visit with the hashtag #HicksteadSchooling.

Appropriately, Coldstream is an equestrian brand inspired by the legendary showjumper Hydrophane Coldstream, who before his impressive career as a showjumper took part in eventing. He became a regular member of the British team in the late 70s, winning the inaugural World Team Championships at Aachen in 1978 and a European Team gold medal in 1979 with his legendary rider Derek Ricketts.

The Coldstream range, like the horse, reflects high quality and performance across the disciplines. Established in 2018 with a small and highly focused selection of products, offering technical, beautiful, comfortable clothing to help riders perform at their best.

Proving most popular amongst riders are the technical competition Kilham breeches with the signature Coldstream logo, available in taupe, white and navy; the breathable stretch Lennel base layers with their flatlock contrast stitching; and the beautifully warm and flattering Kimmerston coats and gilets finished with storm collars, faux fur trim and silver metalware detailing, in a range of elegant, subtle shades. The range of lightweight spring jackets are also set to be popular over the coming months.

The partnership is an exciting one for the brand; Coldstream Brand Manager Kate Mckee said: “We are so excited to be joining forces with a powerhouse like The All England Jumping Course at Hickstead; its heritage, prestige and level of sport taking place are the perfect partner for the Coldstream brand, which is set to grow considerably across 2021 and beyond and is fast becoming the brand of choice for the professional rider.”

Hickstead director, Lizzie Bunn added: “Hydrophane Coldstream was a prolific winner at Hickstead back in the day, and I am sure Coldstream Equestrian will prove a winner with our competitors and visitors. We are delighted to welcome them to Hickstead."
