Be part of the team at Hickstead for the 2026 season!

The All England Jumping Course at Hickstead is calling for keen volunteers who wish to be part of the team at our two international horse shows.

Event dates

The Al Shira'aa Hickstead Derby Meeting 17-21 June - Applications now open

The Agria Royal International Horse Show 21-26 July - Applications now open 

Roles at this year's events include:

  • Stewarding general public
  • Stewarding pedestrian crossing points
  • International arena maintenance

Volunteers who partake in more than one shift will be provided with uniform – a Hickstead branded polo shirt and cap - but will need to provide their own black trousers and suitable footwear. Although our shows are in summer, please be prepared for wet weather. On arrival you will also be provided with meal vouchers which can be exchanged at the food outlets. Each volunteer will receive a complimentary show programme from each show they attend. 

Unfortunately, Hickstead will not be able to offer accommodation or cover transport costs, however there will be the possibility to camp on site.

All volunteers must be 18 years old as of the 17 June 2026, or at least 16 years old if accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Terms & Conditions

  • No smoking on position/duty.
  • Consumption of alcohol is not permitted during volunteering duties and you should be fit to conduct yourself in a professional manner.
  • The use of recreational drugs is not tolerated.
  • Volunteers should not bring other people, friends, family etc. on shift.
  • Volunteers can only bring additional people to the volunteer campsite with prior arrangement.
  • Volunteers must complete two shifts minimum.
  • Volunteers must be fit for the role. Any volunteers who are not able to fulfil roles may be asked to leave without reimbursement of expenses.
  • All offers of volunteering are subject to passing relevant background checks.
  • Any offers of volunteering are not an offer of work, nor an offer to reimburse costs of attending the event.
  • Withdrawal of volunteering will result in cancellation of tickets and complimentary passes.
  • Where applicable, to be able to drive a buggy carrying public, a full UK driving licence must be presented before use.
  • Volunteers must be at least 16 years old at the time of volunteering.
